Q: What type of services does PPOM offer? 

A: PPOM interprets municipal zoning by-laws and official plan land use policies for property owners, developers and real estate agents. PPOM provides its services through a written report or a scheduled phone call, which offers a professional planning opinion on what development (if any) can be considered on a property.

 

Q: Are PPOM's reports approved by municipalities?

A: PPOM's reports are not approved by any municipality. However, PPOM's unbiased reports are based on almost 20 years of municipal planning experience. Any information provided by PPOM is intended to provide professional recommendations by interpreting land-use planning official plan policies and zoning by-laws. 

 

Q: Who is responsible for obtaining zoning by-law and/or official plan information if it must be collected in person?

A: PPOM will collect all necessary information from the municipal office/city hall in person if needed. Please note: all documents and permits must be submitted to the municipality by the client.

 

Q: Who could benefit from PPOM's services? 

A: PPOM caters to new or existing property owners. Real estate agents and land developers would also benefit from the service that PPOM provides.

 

Q: How long will it take PPOM to respond to an inquiry? 

A: Provided that the information is readily available online, PPOM guarantees a response to paid inquiries within 36 hours. However, where information must be collected by the municipality in order to finalize or compliment a PPOM report, our response time may be longer.

 

Q: Does PPOM represent the municipality? 

A: No, PPOM only represents its clients. A report answering clients inquiries will be provided after payment is received.

 

Q: Are there any municipalities where PPOM's service is unavailable? 

A: PPOM can not conduct its services within the Regional Municipality of Durham (which comprise of: the Town of Ajax; the Township of Brock; the Municipality of Clarington; the City of Oshawa; the City of Pickering; the Township of Scugog; the Township of Uxbridge; and the Town of Whitby).

 

Q: How much does PPOM's service cost?

A: A service provided by PPOM varies depending on the nature of the inquiry. Please view our Request Form for the associated fees.

 

Q: If I request for PPOM’s service, what method of payment can I provide?

A: PPOM currently provides the option of e-transfers at property@ppom.ca as well as payment through PayPal.
